Luxury Vinyl Flooring FAQs
How do I know if luxury vinyl plank is better than hardwood for my home?
Luxury vinyl plank is an excellent option if you want the appearance of hardwood with added waterproof protection and easier maintenance. It's especially popular in homes with pets, children, or high-traffic areas.
Is luxury vinyl flooring really waterproof?
Yes. Quality luxury vinyl flooring is designed to resist moisture, making it a great choice for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and basements.
Should I choose WPC or SPC luxury vinyl flooring?
Both are waterproof, but they have different core constructions. SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) and WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) are both waterproof luxury vinyl flooring options, but they differ in the construction of their core layers.
- SPC flooring features a rigid core made from limestone, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and stabilizers, creating a hard and durable floor.
- WPC flooring has a core made from wood-plastic composites, giving it a slightly softer, more flexible feel underfoot.
At Dalton Mill Direct Carpet, we often recommend WPC luxury vinyl flooring because its flexible locking system is less likely to break or develop gaps during installation. Both options offer excellent waterproof performance, and our team can help you determine which is the best fit for your home, lifestyle, and budget.
Can luxury vinyl flooring be installed over my existing floor?
In many cases, yes. During your free estimate, we'll inspect your current flooring and subfloor to determine the best installation method for long-lasting performance.
Where can I see luxury vinyl flooring before I buy?
Visit our showroom in Nicholasville to browse a wide selection of luxury vinyl plank flooring. You can even take samples home to compare colors and styles in your own lighting before making your final decision.
